Premiere Spinoza
Rudolf van den Berg’s film Spinoza premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. Rudolf passed away shortly after filming wrapped, and so he never got the chance to see the finished film. That, of course, made this evening different. And difficult.
But for all of us, this film is inseparably connected to him and to his love for Spinoza. And that is why tonight feels like more than the end of a film production. It also feels like a moment in which we can pass on something of Rudolf—to each other and to the audience.
The film he so passionately wanted to make, and which, despite everything, he managed to bring into being.
